Hello... Great site...
I'm a grade 6 teacher. My class looked at your website and were impressed with your skills in computer technology. We completed a few of your math challenges and were able to identify many of the same things you did (except we missed corresponding angles). My students noticed that you get out of school next week! My students are jealous! We go until June 27. I'll tell you a little bit more about my class... there will be about 30 students in my class and they are very multicultural (there are very few white kids at my school). English is the second language of many of the children. Many students are new immigrants. (e.g., jsut arrived from India and Sri Lanka). Our school is located in Markham (near Toronto). Well, that's a little more about our demographics... I've got to go for now, but will talk later.

I thought this website was interesting. On the pictures were lots of
angles and geometrical shapes. On the Eiffel Tower picture I think I might
have something to add on it. Where the road goes under the Tower, directly
above, there should be an arc or half circle. To the right of OBTUSE
ANGLE, there is a straight line; above that line is another straight one.
You could put parallel lines.

You did a good job, but some of the text wasn't visible. We couldn't read
it very well, and the words were in different places from where the shapes
were, so we had to really study the picture to see what shapes were. Next
time, you should label the objects better. Also, you missed some of the
rhombus's in the picture. But you did get almost all of the shapes. Good
job.

Hello my name is Julia and I am in 8th grade. Thank you very much for participating in our internet math challenge. Me and my partner did Sleeping Beauty's Castle, thank you for pointing out our mistake, but you didn't have to label all of the shapes if you labeled them somewhere else (which we did). You didn't have to label all the shapes because there are a lot of basic shapes in a building. Thank you for pointing this out and we invite you back again to look at other buildings.
Thank you,

Dearest person,
The building that u have measured and labeled (paraly li mare) was
done correctly.. everything was great except for the coloring of the font.
The font was sort of hard to read against the dark of the building, it was
also blurry. Other than the font everything was perfect.

Hi, my name is Shelby and I'm in the 8th grade here. We really appreciate the your participation in responding to our math projects! There might have been some shapes here and there that were not labeled, but it is because there were so many other shapes to find that we really didn't pay much attention to the basic shapes like rectangles and squares. We got some of them but on any building there are a lot of basic shapes. Thank you for responding to our projects and come back anytime and look at more buildings!

Mrs. Houston,
Hey it's Mary Lambert. How are you, we all miss you. Anyway! Some
mistakes I found in this, was that students would forget that the pillars
on buildings were cylinders. Also bricks are rectangles. There is also a
building where there are little stone circles on the arch, these should
also be labeled. But, it was a cool project, and allot better looking then
our posters from last year. Good Job Mrs. Houston's class, and be nice too
her. She's an awesome teacher, and all her old students miss her.

I thought that you guys did a really good job at finding the shapes you
found in the picture of the Lincoln Cathedral. I didn’t disagree on any
of them I just found one shape that you forgot to name and that was a
cylinder it was on the right side in back of the triangular prism. I
might of missed some others but that was the only one I could find. Other
then that little mistake I thought that the rest was fine.

i was not able to find all the shapes and figures in the picture i had fun
trying. Thank you for building this site and i look forward to viewing
more of your mathematical problems. I did not find alot of things that
were wrong with your picture of Paray-le-Manial. I did like this one alot
and i tried to do some other ones but they were kind of hard.
Sincerely,
Scott Basford

I thought that the project Mrs.Houston gave to your class was very
interesting. I think that it sounds like a lot of fun and think it would
be neat if we could have done that project here. We do alot of projects in
math but the project that you did seems like it was fun! I hope that you
all enjoyed doing the project you did because from the sounds of it I
would have liked doing it. While I was looking at the Kremlin Palace
picture I didn't find anything wrong with it so by the looks of things you
did this project correctly.
sincerly,
Megan Dodge

and 5 days"
Other then that the site is awesome!!

Hi,
I liked your page. I did not see any mistakes from what I looked at. I
liked the different buildings you did.

Considering the fact that I don't know you. Ill have to say that was a very
promising site. I liked the fact that you had quite a clean presentation
and clear viewing screen with no junk. Even though you didn't put down
as many shapes as you could have. This is quite a promising site and very
enjoyable..
To that I would give your site and 8 out of 10.
Thx for your time,
Steven Kaup

Dear Mrs. Houston and class,
I liked your web page. I didn't really see many mistakes. There were
just a few shapes that I saw here and there that were not labeled. Most
of them were basic shapes like rectangles. Some of the buildings were
made of bricks, bricks are rectangles. The web page looks really good!

Mrs. Houston,
Hey it's Mary Lambert.

What a wonderful idea! Will you be holding challenges like this throughtout
the summer? Thank-you for inviting us to share in this learning adventure. It
will help my home schooled son to challenge his mind in a fun and interactive
way. I will definitely have him try it out and see what he thinks. We will
get back to you with the results.

Mrs. Houston,
What a fantastic collaborative project you and your class created!! I am very impressed with the DHTML used on the photos to show the math shapes. Did your students do that part of the project, as well?
You have a great project that I am sure will bring lots of responses from other schools. I will link to site and place it on both the collaborative projects and math pages of my site.
Nicely done!

I think our math teachers might be interested in this. We are Pleasanton Middle School, located in the San Francisco bay area in California. You have a very cool web site...I will forward this to the math teachers.

Hello,
We found a cone on the top of Sleeping Beauty's Castle and you missed it! We really like your web site. We found lots of shapes.
Mrs. Kingsbury's 3rd grade class Vassalboro, Maine USA
We were looking at the Eiffel Tower and we found so many triangles that we lost count. The Eiffel Tower is really big. It has a lot of steps. We all think we'd get very tired climbing all those steps.
